- I'm having some problems getting my X386 server to come up
- properly. This is X11R5. I got the x386.modeDB the X386 faq
- mentioned, and used the VESA standard setting for 65, which
- matches the highest clock speed displayed when the X386 server
- starts. This got it to work much better than anything else
- I had tried. I now see a few problems. This is X11R5 built and
- running on ISC 2.2.1
-
- 1.) Not all of the physical screen is used in the
- horizontal direction, although about 85 % is used.
- The display goes all the way to the right edge
- of the monitor, but there is a fair amount of space
- unused on the left edge. Could this be just a centering
- problem ? If so, is this something I can adjust through
- the server ?
-
- I have X11R3 and Motif running currently. These are
- the ones I got from ISC with the system. I don't see
- this problem with that.
-
- 2.) Some of the characters in my xterm get the right
- edge cut off. If I iconize the window and then expand
- it they seem to be ok. But when I type new characters
- most have the right edge cut off.
-
- 3.) When I ran xlock, the fractal pattern was in black
- and white.
-
- I'm running twm to test. The panning in the server does work. I
- have the Virtual set to 1152 900.
-
- My video card is an Orchid ProDesigner II 1MB
- My monitor is a Mitsubishi Diamond scan (HL6935TK/ATK
