  22. Thank you for this info. I just donwloaded the new firmware files from
  23. adaptex but they show the same problem !
  24. (BTW Are the files on adaptex also available via ftp, if so at what address ?)

  26. But finally I solved the problem.
  27. Poking around with SCSICNTL I noticed that the CD-ROM drive was the only
  28. one running ASYNC the other 2 disks were running SYNC.
  29. So I changed the (enhanced mode) setup for the CD-ROM to ASYNC and
  30. IT WORKED !!

  32. It seems to me that the 1740 firmware does not correctly react on a reject
  33. to a sync-mode negotiation request. (The 1540 seems to handle that ok)

  35. Should I report that to Adaptec or are you listening Roy ?
