  19. I have X386 V. 1.1 under linux 0.96c PL 0 working fine.  It requires
  20. my booting dos, running vmode, and returning to the dos prompt.  I
  21. then have to run linux (without powering down the system!!!) in 
  22. 80x60 text mode in order to keep the clocks I need to run in the
  23. resolution I want.  So, it does work.

  25. However, I have heard that Patch Level 2 introduces a bunch of VESA
  26. stuff that may make this workaround less viable (I am hesitating to
  27. upgrade and find out).  I hope X V. 1.2E doesn't leave us all 
  28. completely out in the cold.
