  28. Ten to 15 seconds for the first time the licence server gets started is not
  29. unreasonable - it has to bind to the socket, and may well have a deliberate
  30. policy of waiting to avoid people starting cc & then killing the licence
  31. server & starting a new one...

  33. Once the server is running, 10 seconds sounds very slow.
  34. Certainly contacting our own licence server is faster than that.
  35. Maybe we should license it back to Sun :-)

  37. Perhaps a more sensible approach would be to incorporate knowledge of the
  38. licences into make.  Then it could pass a licence token to cc, and could
  39. even control a certain number of concurrent compilations.
