- I believe there are two limits--one limit on the # of processes/machine
- and another on # of processes/user. You can check (and I presume
- raise) the number of processes/user if you go into SMIT and select
- the following:

- Change / Show Operating System Parameters

- and you will see that the number of processes per user limit is
- the first choice. On my 320 it is currently set at 40.

- I'm not so sure about the limit on # of processes per machine. That
- may just be a distant memory from when I was using AIX PS/2. But even
- on the PS/2, the max processes/machine was pretty high. I've gotten
- my 320 up past 85 processes without any problems. I always run into
- the max processes/user limit. Try raising yours.
