  33. I believe there are two limits--one limit on the # of processes/machine
  34. and another on # of processes/user.  You can check (and I presume
  35. raise) the number of processes/user if you go into SMIT and select
  36. the following:

  38. System Environments and Processes
  39.   Change / Show Operating System Parameters
  40.  
  41.   and you will see that the number of processes per user limit is
  42. the first choice.  On my 320 it is currently set at 40.
  43.  
  44.   I'm not so sure about the limit on # of processes per machine.  That
  45. may just be a distant memory from when I was using AIX PS/2.  But even
  46. on the PS/2, the max processes/machine was pretty high.  I've gotten
  47. my 320 up past 85 processes without any problems. I always run into
  48. the max processes/user limit.  Try raising yours.
