  12. Hi. there,
  13.     I tried to append files to tape. I first did:
  14.     mt feom
  15.     then followed by 
  16.     tar cv myfiles
  17.     What happened was that the screen output looked like files were
  18. tar'd to tape normally. But when I did
  19.     tar tv
  20.     I found out that no new files attempted to append was archieved and
  21. old files were still in there. I use SILICON GRAPHICS Iris-4D. Any help
  22. is appreciated. Please reply to this account or to
