- Get a DAT. Unless you have humongous data to backup.

- DAT has a faster tape transport mechanism so that fast forwarding to a
- particular file is faster. They are slightly slower on streaming data transfer
- rate, but its a speed that ties in nicely to NFS transport speed, so the tape
- isn't starting and stopping all the time.

- The Sony audio DAT tapes are good enough, so the media costs are cheaper.
- (I've had some grief with vidio 8mm tapes)
