- What are the pro's and con's of Exabyte (8mm) and DAT (4mm)
- for use as backup device for a Sun SPARCserver??
-
- I remember reading something about how different tape technologies
- applied the tape in diffrent amount of degrees around the tape head.
- DAT used the least number of degrees, compared with Sony 8mm and VHS,
- and that then would qualify DAT for being the technology that wear out
- the tape least frequently. (read this in a audio/video magazine)
- If this is true does it then make the DAT tape technology more
- reliable than 8mm Exabyte??
-
- Anybody know anything about this, and/or have any experince??
-
- Thank's in advance, I will summarize to the net if enough responses.
