- Hello.
- I have a weird request. We are using an HP 9000 835 simultaneously
- as a test platform and a development platform (two projects, and yes I
- know that's not a good idea). Let's just say we don't have an option
- right now. In order to test our software, we fequently need to change the
- system date, forwards and backwards. The development guys hate that,
- understandably.
-
- Hence: Is there a way to have one login run under one sort of time/date
- and the rest of the machine under normal time/date? We would need
- to fool the process, for which we frequently change the date, into
- looking somewhere else to find its date, thus allowing us to leave the system
- date alone, and giving the development guys a break. It is a real time system,
- and if we want to test it in under a year, we need to be able to change the
- date.
-
- I really have not the slightest idea (in fact have my doubts) that this
- is possible, but if anyone has any pointers, ideas, programs, I would
- like to hear from you (my boss would like to hear from you even more).
-
- Please either mail me at jvilhube@du.edu or jan@uswmrg.mrg.uswest.com
- or call me at : (303)784-2845
- or post here. I will try to follow the groups for a while.
-
- Thanks!
