- ...once it comes out for PClones. I don't think "Solaris for Intel", or
- whatever they call it (if they call it "Solaris for Intel", *I* think
- Sequent should buy a copy, and complain to Sun if it doesn't work, out
- of the box, on a Symmetry...), is out yet.
-
- Note also that if the original poster doesn't want *all* of Open
- Windows, and has the time and energy to spend on an XView port, they
- could look into snagging the XView 3.0 source and building it on
- whatever platform they get. With XView 3.0 you get the XView toolkit,
- Sun's "olwm" window manager, and a few utilities such as "cmdtool",
- "shelltool", and "textedit". You *don't* get the DeskSet stuff, though.

-
- E.g., SVR4.2, which, like Solaris 2.0, is SVR4-based. It also
- presumably has a window manager that does OPEN LOOK, although it's not
- Sun's "olwm", as far as I know. I suspect that its window manager, like
- AT&T's MoOLIT toolkit, can be told to do Motif (or something extremely
- similar; dunno if it's been Officially Certified as being a Motif
- implementation by OSF), so if the original poster wants OPEN LOOK, they
- should be able to get it, although it probably doesn't specifically have
- all the Sun DeskSet stuff (you can probably put XView 3.0 on it,
- though).
-
- I don't know whether it's out yet, either (i.e., I don't know if you can
- walk into a store and buy it, or even order it from USL or Univel or
- whoever you order it from).
-
- Or, if you're really adventurous, there's always 386BSD....
