- I am interested in running unix on a laptop. A major concern
- is battery life.
-
- So, my quetion is this: what power conservation techniques work
- while running unix, which ones don't work (panics?), and which ones
- backfire (i.e. shorten battery life).
-
- Obviously, the 30 sync cycle is likely to keep the disk powering
- up & down all the time, or to keep it on all of the time. However,
- I believe that this can be tuned (esp. with source!).
-
- What other aspects are there to consider?
