- Anyone know about this one? I've got 3.0 running on a Mac II, connected
- to the rest of the world by an ethernet card, so I can telnet to the
- machine from our VAX. Occasionally, when I'm feeling bored, I'll log on
- as superuser and do an "fsck /dev/dsk/c0d0s0", and invariably, if the
- system finds anything wrong with the disk, it will come back at the end
- of the repair process with "File system modified, rebooting A/UX!"
-
- This would be fine and dandy, except it doesn't work. Whenever it does
- this, I come look at the screen on the Mac and it's displaying this
- black and white checkerboardish pattern with "panic: ifree: freeing free
- inode" on the screen. Pressing the restart key makes the Mac reboot,
- start A/UX, and all is well.
-
- Is this supposed to be happening? It seems odd to me...if it turns out
- that one just can't restart the Mac unless logged into the console, I'll
- disable it, but it's still a pain.
-
- Thanks!
