- Just got A/UX 3.0 upgrade kit and about to install it in no time!
-
- Perhaps I just find out a vulnerable point of installing A/UX 3.0
- on IIfx.
-
- There are three steps in installing A/UX 3.0: setting up disk with
- HD Setup, installing A/UX Startup on MacOS partition, and
- installing A/UX proper on the Root & Usr partition.
-
- The first two steps went smoothly. When it came to the last step, and
- while the installing program showed "Please wait... Calculating UNIX
- filesystem space requirement", the machine hang. It is highly
- reproducible. Adjusting the arrangement of SCSI devices helps a bit
- but it still happens in about 10% of the time.
-
- Does anybody care to comment on this? Yet another SCSI DMA "feature"
- of IIfx? Anybody from Apple would like to say anything so we can
- have an insight? (hint... hint...)
