- The FAQ is somewhat correct, somewhat incorrect. Problem is that the keeper
- of the FAQ, Glen Overby, only lists the features of the out-of-the-box
- versions of Minix for PC, Atari, Amiga etc. As far as I know, Prentice-Hall
- still sells AmigaMinix version 1.5, which does NOT have HD support, and
- which might NOT run on an A3000. THIS is what Glen states in the FAQ.
-
- On the other hand, IF you do have ftp access, you can get the updates to
- 1.5.10.1 and 1.5.10.2, which give you HD support for the A590, A2091 and
- A3000's HD controller (or was it 'host adapter' ? ;-), virtual consoles,
- and some more goodies. These updates ARE official as far as Steven Reiz
- told me, but...well, not everybody might have access to them, that's why
- Glen's FAQ does not mention it.
-
- FYI: The ftp site is ftp.cs.vu.nl [192.31.231.42 and others], directory is
- /pub/sreiz/minix.
-
- Good luck,
- Frank
