- You obviously didn't look at this very hard.

- The problem you described has nothing to do with getpwnam(); it's a bug
- in getlogin(). getlogin() look at DEAD_PROCESS entries in utmp, when
- instead it should just be returning NULL. This also happens under 3.2.
