- HELP! Please, can anybody tell me where I can get a half decent window/mouse
- based text editor like the one on a Sun's. I have xedit but it lacks, or
- I don't know how to do it, the following: CUT & PASTE, I can select and
- paste but I cant cut out a chunk of text. SCROLLABLE cut & paste. I can
- only select what's visible on the screen. A decent editor should scroll
- down/up to select more text. HORIZONTAL SCROLLBAR! It doesn't have one.
- FIND & REPLACE: xedit is supposed to do it but when I try it doesn't
- find anything, much less replace it. GO TO A LINE NUMBER. It's useful to
- jump to a line number, when the compiler gives you the line number of the
- error.

- As you can see, nothing fancy, just the basic features one needs in a text
- editor. I hope someone can help, I'm beginning to loathe the sight of the
- RS6000 because IBM didn't supply a window based editor. Their default
- editor for their motif interface is vi for God's sake! You would think
- that a huge company like IBM could afford to write a proper window based
- editor. Yee Gads, I better get off my soapbox.
-
- Thanks for any help, and excuse that mommentary outburst.
