- Hello Folks,
-
- I'm running a rather "non-standard" yp configuration. I have 5 RS6000's
- on a subnet, ypbind'ed to a server on a different subnet. I do this
- with a 'ypset 128.....' command, since I can't broadcast to my
- ypserver. This works fine, except for when yp fails, because in order
- to get rebound to my server I must do the 'ypset 128....' command.
- Well there have been a few times when this has happened and I haven't
- be around to give the ypset command. When this happens I notice that
- startsrc -s ypbind (this is the call in the /etc/rc.nfs) starts up
- multiple occurances of ypbind. I'll sometimes have 3 and 4 running
- on each machine. After I get the ypset command given everything seems
- to behave fine, except I still have multiple ypbinds running. Are
- the multiple ypbinds going to cause me any problems? When ever I
- notice there are multiple ypbinds running I always stop and start
- ypbind just to get it back down to 1 ypbind running. Has anyone
- else seen this?
-
- Thanks,
- Curt
