- This might sound a little goofy to some of you but here goes. I'm using AIX-
- PS/2 on PS/2 Model 80-311 with an 8514/A video card. Works great and does
- everything I need including allowing me to boot DOS occasionally and run
- Windows and various apps.
-
- Now they're threatening to replace my trusty ol' Intel-based box with a real-
- live RS6K 320 with a 6091 (nicer than a PS/2 8514 by far) video. My dilemma
- is this: 80% of the time I'm using the PS/2 in AIX mode with X-windows, etc.
- This would obviously be vastly improved with the RS6K. The other 20% of the
- time, I'm using Windows apps which are key to my job. I can't live without
- them.
-
- My question is this: should I take the RS6000, given a continuing need for
- Windows apps? I understand that the best I can get with IBM PCSIM is
- Windows 3.0 real mode - I don't think this would be acceptable. Are there
- other DOS/80x86 simulators out there for the RS6000? I'd appreciate any
- net-wisdom...
