-
- Ensure that login is 'enabled' for that port in SMIT, and that XON/XOFF
- is disabled. If you are using RTS/CTS handshaking then set speed of
- port to 9600. I have not convinced myself that RTS/CTS
- will be enabled if the command 'stty add rts < /dev/tty20' is issued.
- Indeed this command will hang indefinetely if issued (why?)
-
- Strangely enough there is no way through SMIT to enable
- hardware handshaking which is what is needed if binary file transfer
- is required.
-

-
- Definitely not, you will need a cable that has at least 8 connections,
- pins 2,3,4,5,6,7,8 & 20 should be connected straight through. This
- will allow RTS/CTS handshaking to cope with the DTE rate being higher
- than the link rate of 2400 baud. This in turn will provide
- higher througput in terms of file transfer.

-
- I have found that this was not needed for dial in only connections.
