  11. One of the xdm sources shipped by my company is broken.  Search for
  12. the string "defect" in auth.c, and unfix the fix that was put in there.
  13. Simply move the comment above the line that reads:

  15.         home = getEnv (verify->userEnviron, "HOME");
  16.  
  17. recompile and link, and the login problem will be gone.
