- I've recently aquired a 970 with a 2.3 Gig tape. I find that whatever
- I do, I can't seem to get more than 1 Gig per hour backup rate. At worst,
- using the 512 byte block, it took about 2.5 hours/gig.
-
- Here's what I currently using, and the hardware blocking in smit is set
- to 512 bytes, because that's what mksysb likes:
-
- backup -0uf- -b32 /oracle1 | tctl -p 65536 -b 16384 -f /dev/rmt0.1 write
-
- Am I kidding myself that I should be able to get more than 1 Gig/hour on this
- tape (we get 2Gig/hour on a Sparc/Budtool setup), or is there something
- really obvious that I've missed?
