  13.     Could anyone please tell me if PC-NFS works
  14. on a RS6000?  Is there anything tricky I should
  15. know about?

  17.     Also, I would appreciate hearing opinions on
  18. PCSIM.  Does it work?  Can MS Windows applications
  19. run on it?  How is its performance in comparison to 
  20. a PC?

  22.     We are going to buy an entry level workstation
  23. and are trying to decide between an HP 705 or an
  24. IBM 220.  Our main use for the machine would be to
  25. do floating point intensive Monte-Carlo calculations,
  26. so floating point speed is important.  I understand 
  27. that the HP is a little faster, and that HP-UX might
  28. be better developed than AIX.  However, I have been 
  29. offered a better price by IBM.  Therefore, if the
  30. differences between the machines were slight, we
  31. would go with the IBM.  We are physicists, and do
  32. not have the time or aptitude to do heavy system
  33. administration.
