  13. I am telnetting to a host (over which I have no control) which is sending out
  14. 8-bit characters, with even parity.  Unfortunately, on a display with
  15. characters above 0177, this causes unreadable output.  Is there a way in
  16. telnet, stty, etc. which would cause the stripping of the characters to 7
  17. bits?

  19. If the answer is obvious, sorry.  I've looked and experimented, but haven't
  20. seen the light.
