  13. I have an EISA-486/33 Hardware Platform with the following Hardware

  33. The adapter is an AMI FASTDISK EISA disk controller with 4 MByte RAM.
  34. The Disk drives are both Seagate 94171-350's (ST4350N) SCSI drives.
  35. The Thinwire Ethernet Interface Card is an Racal/Interlan EISA ES-3210 card.
  36. The Display card is TSENG LABS ET4000 Based, running 1024X768x256 colour Mode.
  37. I also have an Overland Data TX8 Tape interface Card installed.

  71. My default login shell is the csh.
  72.  
  73. My .login file allows my first login to open an Open Desktop Window Inteface,
  74. and all subsequent concurrent logins on any other of the multiscreens
  75. results in a Sys V Command line interface Prompt. This makes life easier
  76. when running some of my applications, which include a number of high resolution
  77. graphics applications which require the ODT-DOS window to be zoomed when used
  78. from the Desktop. But here is my problem :-

  80. For about ten precent of the time, when I run either the ODT-DOS shell, or a
  81. UNIX linked ODT-DOS application from the command line.
  82.   ( Two examples are :- Wordperfect V5.1, Gem Artline )

  100. A system dump to /dev/swap then occurs, and I have to reboot and repair the
  101. filesystems.
  102.  
  103. Could anyone PLEASE help me, as to what the probable cause or causes are, and
  104. what are the suggested fixes, if any. It does not happen everytime I run an
  105. ODT-DOS program.
  106.   (Running DOS from the Open Desktop works with no problems).

  108.  PS. I control several other SCO ODT systems running as clients only, and they
  109. don't suffer from the same problem ( Or I don't use them enough to encounter
  110. the problem)
