- The adapter is an AMI FASTDISK EISA disk controller with 4 MByte RAM.
- The Disk drives are both Seagate 94171-350's (ST4350N) SCSI drives.
- The Thinwire Ethernet Interface Card is an Racal/Interlan EISA ES-3210 card.
- The Display card is TSENG LABS ET4000 Based, running 1024X768x256 colour Mode.
- I also have an Overland Data TX8 Tape interface Card installed.
-
- Below is the software installation according to swconfig :-

- My default login shell is the csh.
-
- My .login file allows my first login to open an Open Desktop Window Inteface,
- and all subsequent concurrent logins on any other of the multiscreens
- results in a Sys V Command line interface Prompt. This makes life easier
- when running some of my applications, which include a number of high resolution
- graphics applications which require the ODT-DOS window to be zoomed when used
- from the Desktop. But here is my problem :-
-
- For about ten precent of the time, when I run either the ODT-DOS shell, or a
- UNIX linked ODT-DOS application from the command line.
- ( Two examples are :- Wordperfect V5.1, Gem Artline )
-
- When I quit the application I get the following message :-
-
-
- PANIC:

- ...etc..........
-
- A system dump to /dev/swap then occurs, and I have to reboot and repair the
- filesystems.
-
- Could anyone PLEASE help me, as to what the probable cause or causes are, and
- what are the suggested fixes, if any. It does not happen everytime I run an
- ODT-DOS program.
- (Running DOS from the Open Desktop works with no problems).
-
- PS. I control several other SCO ODT systems running as clients only, and they
- don't suffer from the same problem ( Or I don't use them enough to encounter
- the problem)
-
- Thanks in advance....
-
- Gordon NUSSEY.
