  20.    Thanks to everyone who responded.  The problem was adequately solved
  21. by turning flow control off (stupid me), but there are still alarms which
  22. I will attribute the fact that I have a sh***y serial port.  If I send
  23. the file in smaller chunks (<50k) things seem to transfer without aborting.
