- Hello. I've got this problem and I was wondering if someone could help.
-
- I have a laser jet printer. If I boot my SCO machine on dos floppy I
- can copy con lpt1 and the text that I type in will spew out of the
- printer. So I boot up
- In SCO (off the hard drive) and try lp {filename} and nothing comes out.
- So I
- run sysadmsh and look at the queue and the file is still in the queue
- waiting to print with everyone elses file who has tried to print for the
- last week. So I go to /dev and do a ls l* I find 4 relavant files
- lp,lp0,lp1,lp2. I try
-
- date > lp0 and I get a "lp:cannot create" error. So even though I don't
- have
- a mono card hooked up I smack "date > lp1" and I get the same error.
- Then If I try "date > lp2" It locks up( the task). So I try typing "hwconfig
- name=parallel" and you know what It gives me? a ">>> Missing
- base/finish address in hex format 0x????" and I'm not in finland (he.
- he...). Anyway then the next line is name=parallel base=0x278
- offset=0x2 vec=05 dma=- unit=2.
-
-
- woops I forgot to mention that the ">>>" was printed twice. I now have
- no idea who to do. any sugestions?
