  13. I've been trying to get print accounting going on our lab's SPARC ELC 
  14. and I've been unable to get it working.  I'm not even sure if the 
  15. system will actually support print accounting but from all the subtle
  16. hints that I've found, it appears so.

  18. What I've done so far is put the following in the printcap for the
  19. printer in question:

  22.         :pc#1000:\
  23.         :af=/var/spool/cclihp/accounting:\
  24.         . . .

  26. which sets the cost per page/foot and the accounting file.  I've even
  27. created the accounting files (just in case lpd wouldn't), and nothing 
  28. has been written to them.  Of course, pac reports nothing since the 
  29. accounting files are empty.
