- Latex puts the caption of figures and tables either on top or at the bottom
- of the figure/table (postscript figures included). Is there a way to put
- the caption not at the bottom but in one side (left or right) of the
- table/figure. This would be possible if the figure/table has say
- a width of less than 5cm and I would like to put at one side the caption
- which would be a paragraph (parbox) with a width of also less than 5cm.
- The sum of the two widths should be less than \textwidth.
- Captions which are longer than one line are also a problem, because they
- should be included in parboxes and are therefore typeset with the
- table/figure number not in the right place (beginning of paragraph
- in the first line).
-
- If there is a sty file, which enables such captions (than it should work
- for both tables and figures), or if someone knows a way to doit, please
- E-mail me.
-
- Graphically, i would like to have:
-
- +---------------------+
- | | Fig. 1: This the caption to figure 1,
- | | which begins at the top of that figure.
- | |
- | figure/table |
- | |
- | | Fig. 1: This is the caption to figure 1,
- | | which ends at the bottom line of that figure.
