  12. We have a TeX tape dated 3/22/91 for VM/XA.  I ftped a new copy of TeX
  13. (3.141), and made what appeared to be the only needed changes to the
  14. change files.  However, TeX will no longer read a LaTeX format file
  15. (lplain.fmt).  It will read a plain.fmt file though.  I'm certain I
  16. regenerated the fmts after I installed the new TeX.  I checked the
  17. differences between initex.cms-chan and tex.cms-chan, and saw only
  18. expected differences.

  20. The error I get when loading the format is the 
  21. '(Fatal format file error; I'm stymied)' messages.

  23. 'BigTeX' will read all the various format files created with 'BIniTeX'.

  25. Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions?
