  11. Hi netters, 
  12. I posted this earlier, but had a problem so am posting again. If you 
  13. received it twice I am sorry for that. 
  14.  
  15. I have some problems as follows (using latex 3.1) 
  16.  
  17. (1) I tried to make list of figures with \listoffigures command and
  18. gave captions in my figure environments but latex just prints the
  19. heading of 'Figures' but does not list them and shows blank space.
  20. Also, are the captions only for generating list of figures or do they
  21. appear in the figures also (I don't want them in figures since I have
  22. already written the names and numbers of the figures in the figures).

  24. (2) I have first few pagenumbers in roman (about 7) and I want to suppress
  25. the display of pagenumbers upto pg. 4 and want them to appear from
  26. pg. 'IV' onwards. How do I do that ?

  28. (3) I am using 'report' documentstyle. The chapter titles print left justified
  29. and I have to print them in centered. I tried using \center and \centering
  30. envs. but to no avail. Any solution.
  31.  
  32. (4) Currently my pagenumbers appear at the bottom and center of each page.
  33. However, I have to get the pagenumber of the first  page of each chapter
  34. on the top right. How to do that.
  35.  
  36. I have to submit my report soon and I have recently started doing latex.
