  11. I am submitting a manuscript to a journal that requires authors in
  12. bibliography lists to be replaced by rules, e.g., a 3em dash, if they
  13. also occur in the previous item.

  15. For example, the list

  17.      A. Jones. 1992. A book.
  18.  
  19.      A. Jones and B. Thomas. 1990. An article.
  20.  
  21. should be replaced by something like
  22.  
  23.      A. Jones. 1992. A book.
  24.  
  25.      --- and B. Thomas. 1990. An article.
  26.  
  27. I seem to recall mention of a style and/or *.bst file that would
  28. handle this.  Any pointers would be welcome.
