  21. I don't understand this. Everything works fine on my system and I keep those
  22. files in one place (d:\tex\dvips\), and let dvips know this via the TEXCONFIG
  23. environment variable. On the other hand, I have found it necessary to patch
  24. some emtex related binaries when I put files into my hierarchy, which is not
  25. the same as Matthes', but c'est la vie.

  27. I have found that at least some versions of dvips do arbitrarily bad things
  28. with long lines in config.ps (I was trying to list all my font library files,
  29. which I made myself, and there are over ten of them, but I found that I could
  30. give the directory as an item and then use short names; this still broke with
  31. an older dvips, but the latest dvips386 swallos it fine).
