- We do it in 2 ways:
-
- 1. Use the MacLink/PC v 6 filters with MLPC, not through XTND access (the
- MLPC filters create an intermediate file, and crash often when used with
- XTND)
-
- 2. Learn MIF, and write a macro in Nisus or some other grep-like word
- processing environment to convert to a Word format. If you want to create
- an RTF file, then the MIF to RTF conversion ought to be relatively easy.
- We use Nisus to convert the MIF commands to ordinary word processing
- formats, and save the resulting file in Word format. We haven't got far
- enough to convert footnotes yet, but that is on the way.
-
- Our Nisus macro, written by the Monash Senior Publications Officer Tim
- Mansour, is a wonderful piece of programming. It also has routines to
- convert an MML-like metafile we use here to MIF, which we import into FM
- template documents.
