- I want the current date variable on my templates set up so that it is
- updated when creating a new file, but is unchanged on subsequent opens of a
- saved file, unless updated manually. That way I can use the file for
- record-keeping purposes.
-
- The date will be automatically updated if placed on the master page, but it
- is always updated, whether for a new file, or subsequent opens of an
- existing file. If the date is on a body page, it isn't updated when a new
- file is created, and I have a tendency to forget to update the variable
- manually ("yes, that letter you just got has been in the mail for two
- years").
-
- Any ideas?
