- HI YOU UNIPLEX_GURUS,
-
- there is a problem with with UNIPLEX-softkey menus.
-
- Interactively changing a document while editing a another there is no
- problem. You simply press F2 to get to the menu, choose New-Document,
- Uniplex asks for confirmation and then for the file to be edited.
- But beware of doing this in a softkey-menu!
-
- 5=F158:'J':X(0,0,S,,shell-command_returning_a_filename_on_stdout)
- ^--- german `Y'es
- ^-------- Re-edit file in uniplex.cmd'
-
- The machine just beeps, and nothing else happens.
- Same thing with F154 (New-file) then 'J' for confirmation, F65 (read and insert)
- and the shell-command_returning_a_filename_on_stdout.
-
- Is there no way to get uniplex to edit a new file (named by a shell-script)
- without invoking uniplex again ??
-
-
- The basic problem is that I wish to merge some addresses with a letter.
- Since the built-in Mailmerging features of UNIPLEX only use 'ucard',
- I decided to use reports and the database.
-
- I start the WP using "cd $REPORTDIR; uniplex -q -e -S mysoftkeys" from
- 'uniplex.menu' to get 'ufo' to work (for comfortable selecting purposes).
-
- After the user has choosen his mailmerging-letter (the report), he only
- needs to press F5 to get 'uform' and 'ureport' running.
- (at this point the filename is in $Ufile and the data in $Ucutfile)
- Now the user wishes to edit the merged file to add some data which is not
- included in the database, so I need to edit the merged file.
-
- Any ideas how to manage this in an more elegant way ?
-
- All responses via Email welcome!
