- Hello netters!
-
- I've just become the proud owner of two HP 720 workstations. As a
- total neophyte system manager, I'm still in the process of setting them up
- properly. Right now I've got a small problem with the switch from
- vt100 to tektronix terminal mode. Our programs are relativley simple:
- data is normally entered in vt100 mode, but occasionally, the output
- comes not as strings of numbers, but as a contour plot set up for tektronix
- screens. We use a plotting package -- common in the astronomy business --
- called MONGO. MONGO automatically generates the signals (what are they?) to
- switch from vt100 to TEK mode. My Macintosh terminal emulator (Versaterm PRO)
- handles this fine. But I cannot figure out how to open windows on the UNIX
- workstation using X11 commands which will *automatically* toggle back and
- forth between vt100 and tek mode as appropriate.
-
- Does anyone out there have hints as to how I could make this happen? Or even
- how to force a vt100 window into becoming a tektronics window for a
- short while?
-
- Many thanks for whatever help or ideas anyone has about this.
