- Repost, wider audience, looser price requirements. Pointers welcome;
- if you don't have any of this stuff yourself, but you can recommend a
- computer junk dealer or some such, I'd still like to hear from you.
-
- I'm interested in picking up a used Sun. I hope there are some
- commercially obsolete (or nearly so) systems out there (still nice
- for home hacking) that folks would like to unload for a bit of cash.
-
- Here's what I'm looking for, in order of preference:
-
- Base units:
- (CPU, case, power supply, monitor, keyboard, mouse & all cables)
-
- 3/60 C 4 meg $1000 or less
- 3/60 M 4 meg $ 900 " "
- 3/80 C 4 meg $1000 " "
- 3/80 M 4 meg $ 900 " "
- SLC M 16 meg $1600 " "
- SS1+ M/C 8 meg $2100 " "
- SS1 M/C 8 meg $1800 " "
- 3/110C 8 meg,scsi $ 800 " "
- 3/140M 8 meg,scsi $ 800 " "
- 3/50 M 4 meg* $ 600 " "
-
- * If I go for a 3/50, I'd really prefer one that's been set up
- with one of those add-on memory kits that were sold by several
- vendors just a couple years ago, but I might settle for 4 Meg
- if all other systems are too high-priced.
-
- [note: a "C" (color) system, from this list, could be either 16"
- or 19", I'd be happy with either.]
-
-
- Disk/Tape subsystems:
-
- 141/60 shoebox $ 600 or less
- 327/60 shoebox $1000 " "
- 210 meg 3.5" internal $ 400 " "
- 105 meg 3.5" internal $ 200 " "
-
- All CPUs must include monitor & frame buffer - either mono or
- color - in good condition, and a fully functional keyboard and
- mouse (no disintegrating mouse pads).
-
- Monitor in "good condition" means no major phosphor burns, good
- image focus, bright enough to see in normal room lighting.
-
- Companies/Corporations - great chance to unload that lone 3/xxx
- that you've been using as a doorstop for the past year. Or maybe
- that old 141/60 shoebox that's just too damn slow to use on your
- SPARC systems nowadays.
-
- I'd like to inspect the merchandise before purchase, and I would
- handle transportation myself...so it'd be nice if you're within a
- 50 mile radius of Boston, but I might go as far as 200 miles for
- a really good deal...perhaps as far south as NYC, west to Albany NY,
- north to Burlington VT.
-
- Please drop me a line and tell me what you've got and what you're asking.
-
- Thanks!
