  13. I have moved onto a sun SPARCstation 1+ recently from a DEC 5000/120
  14. The DEC ran twm.
  15. The problem is this -

  17. I used to run an xbiff (mail display) from a third party machine onto the DEC.
  18. This was OK because it used to change the mail flag upand down when required.
  19.  
  20. I now run the xbiff to the SUN and it does not change the mail display.
  21. When I issue a screen refresh - this changes the mail display.
  22.  
  23. 1) can I display anything without the window manager ?
  24. 2) does this particular window manager require some form of input?
  25.  
  26. I have set up .Xresources to include my xbiff.
