- In comp.sys.sun.hardware you write:
- >Has anyone experience with Rimfire 35XX VMEbus SCSI Host Bus Adapter,
- >and can explain how to install it to a 4/260 ?
-
- That's a pretty broad question. What kind of information do you need?
- What version of the OS are you running? Do you feel comfortable with
- the automatic scripts to install the driver in your kernel? If so,
- installation is pretty simple. Or do you have a manual?
-
- I've got a copy of the manual and installed one on our 4/470. A word
- of advice--rimfire uses their own format utilities, which are not
- compatable with the "standard" sun SCSI busses. If you try to move
- a disk drive from the Rimfire to a different SCSI bus, you WILL have
- to reformat the disk. (for this reason I've moved off of our Rimfire
- and have recommended to the administration that we never buy any of
- their products again).
-
- If you have specific questions, or even some more guidance about what
- kind of info you are looking for, I'll be glad to help.
