  11. The History:    In the past year we've made almost a complete hardware change from 3/50s to
  12.         a mixed environment of IPXs and ELCs.  Several of these systems were bought
  13.         with their own disk, but to save some money we decided to re-use some of the
  14.         shoeboxes (140Mb) hard drives we used with the old 3/50s.  From what we have
  15.         heard from others there should be no problem with doing this (other then having
  16.         to buy some special SCSI cables).

  18. The Problem:    I've been attempting to install 4.1.2 on a shoebox which is attached to one of
  19.         the ELCs, but the ELC simply refuses to recognize that the SCSI disk (sd0) is 
  20.         there (I am using the GENERIC kernel by the way, so it does have the drivers
  21.         for it).  One of the shoeboxes has a tape drive which the ELC DOES recognize (st0),
  22.         but no such luck for the disk.

  24. The Request:    HELP!  Does anyone have any suggestions what I should do?  Can a 3/50 shoebox be
  25.         used on an ELC?  Is there something special that needs to be twiddled to make
  26.         it recognize the disk?
