Some time in the next year or so, I would like to acquire a used Sun system with the high resolution (1600x1280 I think) monochrome monitor. I believe the monitor was discontinued about the time the Sparcstation came out, but I imagine I'll be able to find one for sale on the net if I'm patient. I have some questions about this monitor.
Do the newer systems support the high res. monitor? I doubt I'll be able to afford a Sun 4, but just in case, do they work with this monitor? How about the 3/80? Is there anything in the CPU box that must be matched with the monitor, as is the case with color systems? I.e., would it be possible for me to buy, say, a 3/60 with the standard monitor, and a high res. monitor separately, and then connect the high res. monitor to the cpu that came with the standard monitor? Have you ever seen the high res. monit
or for sale used, either with or without a system? If so, approximately when was this and what was the price?
