  33. Last week I coaxed Sun into e-mailing me the driver, and mentioned it
  34. to some people who I knew to be looking for it.  I've since put it on
  35. ftp.uu.net:/tmp/NeWSprint-2.0/djc/.  There is a README which describes
  36. the files in the directory, a CHECKSUMS file to make sure you're
  37. getting the proper beasties, the version I received from Sun
  38. (djc-sundist.tar.Z), and the version that works (djc.tar.Z).  The
  39. patch file (patch01) clears up the only [known] error in the package
  40. from np-archive: the driver name was set to "pj" instead of "djc", the
  41. default name.

  43. I have spoken several times with Sun, each time having someone claim
  44. that it's a different group's problem.  I think they finally realise
  45. that a service they advertise in the NeWSprint distribution is
  46. dysfunctional, and so it is perhaps being checked into.

  48. As an aside, the only thing I can get from np-archive@sun.com is a
  49. nice ack message telling me that my request (send printer deskjet) is
  50. small enough to be processed immediately, with the output being a
  51. single line: iso_8859_1.  Mail to manager-np-archive@sun.com dies a
  52. horrid death & bounces back.  Again, I guess Sun knows of the problem
  53. and may or may not be fixing it.

  56. have it?
