- We have a client here, which I just set up a Sun4c-IPX for, who
- has an Alphatronix INSPIRE magneto-optical drive which uses 5.25
- 650MB (~300 each side) rewritetable cartridges. They have these
- scsi devices hooked up to a PC or something now. When I called
- Alphatronix about hooking it up to the Sun, they said it would
- cost over $1,000 for the software utilites, a new eprom (prom?)
- and the scsi cable.
-
- Does this sound reasonable, does anyone know of an alternative
- way. They just want to archive weather information on these and
- they don't have the money to pay for something like this.
-
- This is for the Geography department here at Michigan State University.
