  12. our SUN IPC under OS 4.1.2, and it is _not_ working.
  13. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  15. The details:
  16.     The slip version we are working with is
  17. 4.1.Beta.  This was reccomended to us by the kind folks
  18. at cerf.net, but they did not have any problems installing, 
  19. and so can't help out with ours.
  20.     Symptons: no error messages building new kernel.
  21. The remote machine does not respond to the command
  22. "slip-attach" invoked on our local machine.
  23. The connection is initially made with tip to a dial-in
  24. line through Telebit T3000s.  After all of the initial
  25. login gibberish, we invoke slip on cerf.net, then espcae
  26. to the local machine with ~C slip-attach /dev/tty?? 9600 123.45.6.7
  27. 132.432.54.65 255.255.255.0

  29. The two IP numbers are ours and thiers; we use the real ones...
  30. There is no explanation for the mask number, could this be it?

  32. The terminal we use corresponds to the one for the window in which
  33. our open look virtual terminal is running.  The speed is
  34. 9600 bps, to our telebit over a serial line, so there is no
  35. network to slow it down.
