  14. Thanks for the amusing and interesting replies to my query
  15. about NIS.  I had not known that NIS is the new name for
  16. the old yellow pages system (I'm running 4.0.3).

  18. Regarding NFS not being secure, did you know that there
  19. is at least one NFS package for MSDOS PC's that asks the
  20. user to actually type in the UID and GID numbers for the client
  21. to use in NFS transfers?  Mmmmm, that's nasty.
