- The tape's history is irrelevant, if you begin writing at the beginning
- of the tape: if you start at PEOT, data density is chosen by device
- file only (i.e. /dev/rst1 == 8200, /dev/rst8 == 8500). If you are
- appending data to a tape, then the EXB-8500 will automatically write in
- the format previously used.
