  19. Your dump parameters are fine.  RTFM the sections on st:  under 4.1.2,
  20. the tape device files allow you explicit control over whether you use
  21. 8200 or 8500 mode.  Try using /dev/rst8.

  23. As for the total tape capacity, 5.0GB is fictional maximum from PBOT to
  24. PEOT; depending on the tape you use, the number of write errors, and
  25. your ability to stream the drive, you willl get between 4.6GB and
  26. 4.9GB.

  28. We tell our users 4GB:  that accounts for streaming, tape eaten by ECC,
  29. tape quality, and the tape labels, etc, written by our backup SW.
