  14. I upgraded our 4D/25 and 4D/320 to Irix 4.0.4 a few weeks ago (after
  15. having very bad experiences with 4.0.1) and now I find that I'm
  16. constantly running out of processes when I'm editing text with vi.
  17. It looks like after I filter a line (by entering "!!fmt" or some
  18. such command) from vi a zombie process is left around.  Since we are
  19. supporting many users running on ASCII terminals I have configured the
  20. per user process limit to 20.

  22. It's getting to be annoying having to exit and restart vi to get rid of
  23. the zombie processes!

  25. Is this a known bug, and does anyone know whether it's fixed in Irix 4.0.5?
