- I upgraded our 4D/25 and 4D/320 to Irix 4.0.4 a few weeks ago (after
- having very bad experiences with 4.0.1) and now I find that I'm
- constantly running out of processes when I'm editing text with vi.
- It looks like after I filter a line (by entering "!!fmt" or some
- such command) from vi a zombie process is left around. Since we are
- supporting many users running on ASCII terminals I have configured the
- per user process limit to 20.
-
- It's getting to be annoying having to exit and restart vi to get rid of
- the zombie processes!
-
- Is this a known bug, and does anyone know whether it's fixed in Irix 4.0.5?
