- Being a new user I did not check the versions (i.e. the install dates)
- of the software that was on my CPU when I received it from SGI.
- Then I started having trouble with bru. It was dumping everything even
- on incremental dumps.
-
- Finally some one mentioned that the software had probably been installed
- with a bad date. When I checked every thing that was installed at the
- factory had an install date of April 9, 1994. This means my install
- database is wrong.
-
- I can easily fix the dates for bru by touching every file (in fact I have
- done this). However, it appears the only way to fix the install database
- is to start from scratch.
-
- I guess this will not be a problem until the next release of the software
- comes out. Does anyone have any suggestions? I really do not want to
- start the whole install mess from scratch if there is an easier way.
