  11.   Help! I need to get some serial ports working and the hotline is 
  12.   seriously backlogged.

  14.   We have a 4D/210 with one cdsio board. We use a total of eight
  15.   serial ports simultaneously on this machine, two from the CPU
  16.   board and the six from the cdsio board. Under 3.3.2 things 
  17.   were running fine, but the six ports on the cdsio board couldn't 
  18.   all keep up with 38,400 baud simultaneously.

  20.   We got a firmware upgrade for the cdsio board (to 20005), but 
  21.   this required us to go to 4.0.5. Now the cdsio ports work great, 
  22.   but we're getting errors trying to use the CPU-board ports at 
  23.   38.4 - 'baud rate' or 'framing' errors according to the devices 
  24.   we have attached. The only thing that's changed is the operating
  25.   system; the CPU-board ports worked fine under 3.3.2.

  27.   SGI borrowed this system for a demo and their way of getting
  28.   around this problem was to install a second cdsio board 
  29.   temporarily. We don't have that option (darn :) so we need to 
  30.   get these CPU board ports working.
